Ever wished you could take Stardew Valley on the go with you? With Stardew Valley Mobile and the new Stardew Valley update, you’ll love the increased flexibility and ease of enjoying your favorite indie game on the go! As much as we love playing the game from the comfortable depths of our homes, the ability to take one of our favorite games on the go makes life that much better!
This is why we are major fans of the mobile ability of Stardew, and it works perfectly for both ios and android phones! Whether you’re a farming snob, looking to start a family (virtually, of course), a fishing fanatic, or tired of the other lackluster games available on phones nowadays, stardew valley will leave you pleasantly surprised!
So without further ado, let’s get started on our Stardew Valley Mobile Guide, Stardew Valley Mobile FAQ you’ll want to know beforehand, and other useful information you might find helpful on your Stardew journey.
3 Reasons To Play Stardew Valley On Your Phone
1. Stardew Valley Is Cheaper For Mobile!
Stardew Valley costs around $5 (can change at any moment) on the ios app store and android app store, which makes it an easy choice if the deciding factor for choosing a platform for your game experience is based on cost. Not only that, we honestly didn’t notice that big of a difference between gaming on our phones vs. gaming on our pcs or consoles.
2. Easy and Portable Gaming!
If you travel a lot or have long commutes, then choosing a portable gaming platform for your stardew experience will bring it down to bringing along with you your Nintendo switch or phone. We choose phones over our switch because not everyone has the extra room to bring a Nintendo switch. If space isn’t an issue for you then choosing between the Nintendo switch version and your phone will be more difficult, especially if you take into consideration the two main differences between playing stardew valley mobile vs. other gaming choices.
3. Safe gaming!
The last thing you want to happen in the middle of a session of stardew valley is to lose all your progress because your device broke, or worse you lost it! Part of the reason we love playing stardew on our phones is because we can save our game data to the cloud! That means even if our phone meats its untimely death, we are covered!

Stardew Valley Mobile vs Console vs PC? Should You Bother With Mobile?
Stardew is a farm simulation game with the perfect amount of RPG elements. Thus most people opt to play on traditional gaming platforms such as consoles or pcs. However, you can comfortably play on your phone as it provides an easy and fun experience that can be taken anywhere! For travelers and long commuters, this is your go-to! However, you’re probably wondering what are the pitfalls of playing on mobile vs playing on your favorite console or PC and what the overall control schemes are.
Stardew Fighting is different and not for the better…
Well, for starters Stardew Valley Mobile version is seriously lacking when it comes to fighting… I mean, its to be expected when you’re touching a screen and hoping for the best. There is an awesome and sad feature known as an auto attack, but who wants to play a soulless game that auto attacks for you? Not us takes all the fun of beating dangerous monsters! The PC and console versions offer way better-fighting experiences than the mobile counterpart. Despite that upset, we are still big fans of mobile gaming and think it’s the future of gaming, and more people are on the go. The one thing we can appreciate about the auto attack is its pretty spot on, and even in those dark and creepy mysterious caves, you’ll more than likely be okay.
Stardew Fishing just got easier with mobile!
Maybe it’s just us, but fishing with mobile is wayyyyy easier! Something about touching a screen makes it easier than when we played on the PC. Maybe it’s just a thought 😆.
How you save on Stardew is the same!
That’s right, going to bed and falling asleep will save your progress! We are glad the concept of saving is universal across all platforms.
Pinpointing things and walking are surprisingly easy!
Since you are using a smartphone, the ability to move around the game is pretty easy since instead of having to hold your finger on the screen and drag, you can place it in the direction you want to go or destination on the screen. Your character will follow to the point, and you will lift your finger. This alone takes that annoying movement method of finger dragging away and gives us hope for future mobile games.
Since you can pinpoint planting crops just got so much simpler; click where you want to do work and hack away with a hoe, chuck away at some rocks, dig in mines and hack away at overgrown fields.
We got carried away when we started a new game on the app and started clearing out the overgrown field immediately! After all, the purpose of this game is to make Stardrew valley a lively and bountiful farm full of new life and beauty! This farming game, thus, can make anyone forget that they only have so much energy, so be careful, or you’ll pass out.
